For Squamish Housing: Sea to Sky Community Services (SSCS) requires that applicants reside in the Sea to Sky Corridor* for one year in order to be eligible for housing. Exceptions are made for applicants who currently have family living in the area.
For Pemberton Housing: For initial lease-up, individuals who have lived or worked in Pemberton for at least one year will be prioritized. After initial lease-up, this will change to match the agency policy of needing to reside in the Sea to Sky Corridor for one year.
*Sea to Sky Corridor extends from Britannia Beach to Southern Stl’atl’imx Nations of Lilwat, Samahquam, Skatin, Xa’xtsa and N’Quatqua.

Sea to Sky Community Services has a one pet policy. Should you have any questions, please reach out to housingadmin@sscs.ca.
We’re not sure! It may be a while. The wait time depends on the type of housing you require and our housing availability. Unfortunately, there is a large demand for affordable housing in Squamish. A new placement can only happen after a current resident moves out.
In Pemberton, we are building the Harrow Road Affordable Housing and Community Hub. Construction and occupancy are estimated to be complete by Fall 2026. Please see www.sscs.ca/harrowroad for application deadlines. Once the building is fully occupied, a new placement can only happen after a current resident moves out.
Please contact Housing Admin at housingadmin@sscs.ca and let them know your situation has changed.
We do not provide emergency housing. But we have homeless outreach and prevention workers who may be able to help. Please contact our main office (604 892 5796).
Please refer to the BC Housing Registry. The type of housing you might get is determined by your income level and household size.
We do not share placements on the wait list. Should a suite become available and you are next on the wait list, we will reach out to you directly.
Ensure you have accurately declared your income in your application, and that you have proof of income ready should it be requested.
Most often the timing of housing placements relates to the differences in eligibility for one of the units. Criteria include available sizes of units (1, 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms), type of housing (homes for families, seniors and people with disabilities) and income level.
Market rentals are based on a waitlist system and are first come first served in terms of application order.
Rent Geared to Income and Deep Subsidy rentals are selected by a tenant selection committee comprised of SSCS staff from a variety of backgrounds. Decisions for housing are based on housing need as well as factors like what kind of unit is available.
We encourage people to look at all possible options for affordable housing in the Sea to Sky Corridor. Finding suitable housing can take time, and exploring multiple options is a good idea.
