The Homelessness Prevention & Outreach Program provides free support to adults (19+) and families who are homeless or at risk of losing their housing. Outreach workers help connect individuals with safe and stable housing, income assistance, and essential emergency supports such as food, shelter, medical care, and legal services. The program also assists with applications, landlord communication, move-in support, and access to culturally appropriate services. This program supports people experiencing crises, eviction risk, or absolute homelessness across the Sea to Sky Corridor.
Individuals 19+ and families who are at risk of homelessness due to financial hardship, such as couch-surfing, lacking a name on a lease, living in transitional housing, or facing an eviction notice; those who are homeless as a result of a crisis, including natural disasters or unsafe living conditions; and those who are absolutely homeless, meaning they are living in public spaces without legal claim, including shelters or public facilities like hospitals or treatment centres, or are being exploited to maintain shelter.
