Reaching out for help after experiencing violence takes courage. This program meets women, transgender, and non-binary individuals where they are, without judgment, pressure, or expectations about what healing should look like.

Confidential counselling and outreach for women, transgender, and non-binary individuals affected by violence, abuse, or trauma

Stopping the Violence Counselling

Stopping the Violence Counselling program offers trauma-informed, counselling support to women who have experienced sexual assault, relationship violence, abuse, or childhood trauma. Counsellors provide a safe, confidential space for healing and emotional support.
 

Stopping the Violence Outreach

Stopping the Violence Outreach Workers offer provides support, advocacy, accompaniment, and local transportation to medical, legal, and social services, to women who have experienced violence or abuse. Outreach workers are available in Whistler, Pemberton, and the Southern Stl’atl’imx communities.

Eligibility & Referral

Women, transgender, and non-binary individuals who have experienced emotional, verbal, physical, or sexual abuse at any stage of life may be eligible for this program.

This includes people who feel controlled or put down by a partner, or who are experiencing fear, shame, self-blame, isolation, or hopelessness related to violence or abuse.
