The Family Preservation and Reunification Program supports families whose children are at risk of being removed, have already been removed, or are working toward reunification. The program focuses on keeping children safely with their families by reducing risk factors, strengthening parenting skills, and improving family functioning through intensive, therapeutic, in-home interventions. Services may include counselling, parenting support, therapeutic groups, supervised visitation, case coordination, and practical assistance.
Families currently receiving support from the Ministry of Child and Family Development (MCFD) are eligible for referrals. Child must reside locally and be under the age of 19. The length of service for this program is six months with extensions, as required. MCFD faxes completed referral forms to Sea to Sky Community Services.
