We believe that access to local food is a foundation for a healthy community. That’s why we’ve been working alongside local partners to strengthen food security in the northern end of the Sea to Sky Corridor.
Our shared vision is simple:
A sustainably fed Sea to Sky Corridor, where locally sourced food fuels our community.
This work is deeply collaborative. Together with:
- Qwal̓ímak Nlep̓cálten (Líl̓wat Farm)
- Southern Stl’atl’imx Farm and Garden Project (administered by Xa’xtsa/Douglas Nation)
We are creating a resilient, inclusive, and culturally connected food system — rooted in the people and places of the Sea to Sky.
What We’ve Grown Together
Thanks to the strength of these partnerships, we’ve seen powerful results:
- 2,778 individuals were supported through food distribution, our community kitchen, gardening and seed-saving workshops, and community food events — resulting in more than 49,500 visits.
- ♻️ 3,500 lbs of surplus food was rescued from local farms and redirected to families who need it most.
- 1,320 lbs of produce were grown by Pemberton Secondary School students, who spent over 1,140 hours learning and working in the garden.
These numbers represent far more than food on plates — they reflect connection, education, dignity, and sustainability.
More Than a Meal
The work of the Food Hub goes beyond the boundaries of Pemberton — reaching into Whistler, Mount Currie, D’Arcy, and beyond. With every seed planted and every pound of food shared, we are:
- Supporting Indigenous food sovereignty by collaborating with local Nations on land-based knowledge and food production.
- Creating learning opportunities for elementary and secondary students to gain age-appropriate hands-on experience with gardening, farming, and environmental stewardship.
- Co-creating lasting solutions that strengthen local food systems across the northern end of the Sea to Sky corridor.
Together, we are making strides toward a community where everyone has access to nourishing food that is grown, shared, and celebrated right here at home.
You Can Help
As we look to the future, we know this work must grow — because the need is growing too.
With your support, we can grow something bigger than a harvest. We can grow healthy futures and healthy communities, one season at a time.
